Our story began in 1778 when Spain sent Spanish settlers to Louisiana to populate the Louisiana colony to gain control from the French. Our ancestors from both sides of the family share the same lineage. Our later ancestors quickly became known as "Creole" - born or developed locally from a mix of cultures. Our story began in 1778 when Spain sent Spanish settlers to Louisiana to populate the Louisiana colony to gain control from the French. Our ancestors from both sides of the family share the same lineage. Our later ancestors quickly became known as "Creole" - born or developed locally from a mix of cultures. During these times French, Spanish, and African cultures fused together to create the distinct Louisiana culture we know today. Here we are nearly 300 hundred years later still happily residing in the "bayou state". Mom "Sweet Angee" has been making these recipes with love for nearly 45 years. She is now in a position to quit her long-time career in nursing and peruse her passion in cooking and getting to share some of her favorite recipes!
